Irene J. Smith is an intelligent, highly-skilled candidate for Mayor. When elected, she will lead with commitment, competence, and candor for ALL citizens. As a person of integrity, her fair-minded approach to government will set a new standard for City Hall, essential in these difficult times.

If we want improvement in the City of St. Louis, we cannot continue to empower the same decision makers again and again. It is time for CHANGE! The Mayor of the City of St. Louis must be willing to look for solutions to our problems with new ideas and new people. To use old ideas and the same people that have paralyzed our growth ensures the same failed system.

My friends and neighbors will vote for Irene J. Smith for Mayor to select the person who will guide all of us to an improved future.

Please tell us how you plan to pay for all the programs you want to implement. Are to raise taxes or beg the state for money, because they are going broke by summer. Where will the money come from answer that!

Dear Javier,

Irene speaks all the time about using the resources that we have appropriately. There are resources that the City is not taking the opportunity to use. We need to work smarter and leverage what we have. Taking a look at how the City is currently allocating resources and making changes will be very necessary.

Taking a community approach to schools and crime involves social capital which is a major element in starting these programs and making them work. Getting community involvement, working with churches, and non-for-profits will be extremely important.

Before we look elsewhere, we need to look at what we DO have and put it to better use.
